colleague、co-worker、peer、associate、counterpart。

Cambridge の語義は one of a group of people who work together。
Longman は used especially by professional people、Longman Business は used especially by professional people or managers と、2か所で同じことを書いています
Cambridge の語義は a person who is the same age or has the same social position or the same abilities as other people in a group。
Longman Business の語義は someone who you work with or do business with。
Cambridge の語義は a person or thing that has the same purpose as another one in a different place or organization。
Cambridge の語義に especially one who you are friendly with が入っています。
Cambridge は used in the title of a person whose rank is slightly lower or less complete than the full official position と書いていて、associate director は「副」ではなく「准」です

colleague — one of a group of people who work together

co-worker — a person who you work with, especially someone with a similar job or level of responsibility

後半に similar job or level of responsibility が付きました。

colleaguework together(Cambridge)A2一緒に働く人(誰でも)
co-workersimilar job or level of responsibility(Cambridge)B2(Oxford)立場が近い人
workmateespecially one who you are friendly with(Cambridge)C1(Oxford)仲のいい人
peersame age or … same social position(Cambridge)C1同じ年齢・同じ地位の人
associatework with or do business with(Longman Business)ラベルなし仕事の相手(社外も)
counterpartin a different place or organization(Cambridge)C1別組織の同じ役目の人

Oxford

colleague — a person that you work with, especially in a profession or a business

Cambridge が work together で済ませたところに、Oxford は in a profession or a business を足しています。

Longman

colleague — someone you work with – used especially by professional people

Longman Business のほうは used especially by professional people or managers で、managers まで足しています。

〈修飾〉+ colleagueswork/senior/male colleaguesOxford
a colleague of + 所属a colleague of mine at the bankLongman Business
colleagues of + 人名some colleagues of Carol’sCambridge
with colleaguesHe has a good working relationship with colleagues.Cambridge

2行目の a colleague of mine at the bank が、紹介メールでいちばん使える形です。

  • Cambridge=a person who you work with, especially someone with a similar job or level of responsibility
  • Oxford(B2)=a person that somebody works with, doing the same kind of job
  • Longman=someone who works with you and has a similar position
  • Longman Business=someone who works with you and has a similar job or position

The report criticized them for being bad team players, unable to communicate verbally with their co-workers.

Longman Business

workmate — a person who works in the same place as you, especially one who you are friendly with

Cambridge の語義の後半に one who you are friendly with=仲がいい人、が入っています。

Cambridge

I went out for a drink with a few workmates.

Her workmates organized a leaving party for her last day in the office.

Oxford の語義には in an office, a factory, etc.

peer — a person who is the same age or has the same social position or the same abilities as other people in a group

条件は3つで、same age・same social position・same abilities です。

Cambridge

  • Do you think it’s true that teenage girls are less self-confident than their male peers?(十代の同年代)
  • Getting help from a peer is easier than asking a teacher.(先生ではなく同級生)
  • high school dropouts earn $260,000 less in a lifetime than their degree-earning peers(学歴で比べた同年代)

Longman Business

peer — someone who is the same age or has the same job, social position etc as the person you are talking about

Staff members are trained by their peers.

A peer review system is being introduced

  • イギリスの貴族=in the UK, a person who has a high social position and any of a range of titles, including baron, earl, and duke(Cambridge/例文 a hereditary peer)
  • 同業他社=a company in the same industry as other companies(Cambridge Business/例文 Dixons is doing better than its peers.)
  • 動詞の peer=to look carefully or with difficulty(Cambridge・C2/じっと見る)

He believes the company is undervalued relative to its peers.

associate — someone who is closely connected to another person as a companion, friend, or business partner

Longman Business

associate — someone who you work with or do business with

Mr. Shelton had a meeting that afternoon with a business associate.

associate — used in the title of a person whose rank is slightly lower or less complete than the full official position described

associate — a person who does a similar job to someone else but does not have all the responsibilities of the main position

Longman Business は組織の会員資格でも同じ意味を書いています(a member of an organization who has some but not all the rights of a full member)。

counterpart — a person or thing that has the same purpose as another one in a different place or organization

Cambridge の語義に in a different place or organization=別の場所か別の組織、です。

counterpart — a person or thing that has the same position or function as somebody/something else in a different place or situation

  • The prime minister is to meet his European counterparts to discuss the war against drugs.(Cambridge)
  • The Foreign Minister held talks with his Chinese counterpart.(Oxford)
  • American chief executives are paid far more than their counterparts in the UK.(Longman Business)
  • Why should women in top managerial positions earn less than their male counterparts?(Cambridge Business)

Subject: Introducing Aya Morita, my colleague in Overseas Sales

Dear Mr Silva,

I would like to introduce Aya Morita, a colleague of mine in Overseas Sales.

Aya has handled the Brazilian market for six years and knows your account well.

From next week she will join our calls so that you have a second contact on our side.

Her email address is in the copy line of this message.

Best regards,
Kenji Sato
Overseas Sales, Marubishi Trading

ここで使ったのは a colleague of mine in Overseas Sales です。

Longman Business の例文 a colleague of mine at the bank と同じ形で、所属だけ差し替えています。

Subject: Handing your account to a colleague from 1 October

Dear Ms Carter,

From 1 October, your account will be handled by one of my colleagues, Takuya Endo.

Takuya and I have worked on the same product line for three years, so he already knows the background of your order.

I will stay on this thread until the end of October in case anything is unclear.

Please send any new requests to Takuya from 1 October.

Best regards,
Kenji Sato
Overseas Sales, Marubishi Trading

引き継ぎでは one of my colleagues が自然です。

Cambridge の語義 one of a group of people who work together が、この形の元になっています。

Subject: Technical question — better handled by your counterpart in R&D

Hi Marco,

Thank you for the drawings.

The question about the coating thickness is outside my area.

I think it is better handled by your counterpart in R&D, since our own engineer will be the one answering on this side.

Could you tell me who I should copy on the next message?

Thanks,
Kenji

ここでは your counterpart in R&D を使いました。

Cambridge は co-worker の語義に similar job or level of responsibility を入れ、colleague の語義には入れていません。

Staff members are trained by their peers.

Longman Business の語義は someone who you work with or do business with で、取引相手も含みます。

Cambridge は associate の形容詞に rank is slightly lower or less complete than the full official position です。

Longman Business の例文 a colleague of mine at the bank が、そのまま型です。

Cambridge は subordinate を a person who has a less important position than you in an organization と定義しています。

Cambridge の語義 one of a group of people who work together に、同じ部署という条件はありません。

  • 一緒に働く人=colleague(Cambridge・Oxford がともに A2/Longman は professional people の語と注記)
  • 立場が近い人=co-worker(3冊すべてが similar job / position を語義に入れた/Oxford は B2)
  • 仲のいい人=workmate(Cambridge だけが friendly with を語義に入れた/C1)
  • 同じ年齢・同じ地位=peer(職場は語義に無い/会社を指す語義もある)
  • 別の組織の同じ役目=counterpart(in a different organization が語義に入る唯一の語)

迷ったら a colleague of mine。
